New CDA business hopes to spice up your life

There’s a new shop in Coeur d’Alene that could help you spice up your life.

The Spice and Tea Exchange just opened in the Riverstone Shopping Center. This new location is part of a national franchise, but the new store in Coeur d’Alene is locally owned and operated.

Owner Judy McAfee said what sets this store apart from others are the hundreds of hand-mixed spice blends, flavored salts and sugars, and exotic teas. They also have a wide selection of culinary gifts and tools you can use to enjoy their salts, sugars, spices, and teas.

There’s one thing McAfee wants every person to do when they first walk into the store.

“What we want to encourage everybody to do is open up the jars and smell. It immediately says something to the guest and it will say something different to each guest,” McAfee said.

The Spice and Tea Exchange is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday.
