New cat prowls Lookout Pass for better ski runs

Lookout Pass Ski area is having another great year of snow and this season the runs are even better thanks to a new snow groomer.

The resort recently acquired a Prinoth Bison c9 350hp snow groomer in an effort to give skiers crisp corduroy runs.

Corduroy surfaces are easier for beginners and intermediate skiers or snowboarders to enjoy, and are especially sought by seniors whose legs and knees prefer a more consistent surface.

The mountain usually grooms 60% to 75% of its trails each night, but on most powder days it will groom less than 40% so powder hounds can enjoy the untracked experience across more of the mountain.

As of January 26, 2018 – Lookout Pass had received close to 300 inches of snow for the season.
