New artisan bread shop ‘Glorious’ opens in Browne’s Addition
SPOKANE, Wash. — Browne’s Addition is now the home to a new artisan bread shop! :”Glorious” has opened its doors inside of the Ladder Building on Riverside Avenue.
Owner Leo Walters quit his corporate job last summer to pursue his passion for bread-making full time.
He started small at local farmers markets and started selling his product at places like My Fresh Basket and Huckleberry’s last fall. Then, he decided it was time to create his own space.
“Once I started seeing people adopting it like crazy, you know not only buying the bread but buying it repeatedly and then asking for the bread and special ordering the bread, all those steps. It just became evident that there is really a demand for it here in Spokane,” said Walters
When you walk into Glorious, be prepared to try samples – and lots of them! Walters always has different breads and dips for customers to test out. There are also oils and vinegars available for purchase. They are from Vanessa Foods, one of Walters’ favorite companies.
A large community table is situated in the middle of the space. Walters hopes everything from businesses to book clubs will eventually meet there, and of course enjoy delicious bread!
Glorious is located at 1516 Riverside Avenue. They are open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Glorious is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
