Neighbors say dozens of mailboxes broken in to in Northwest Spokane
SPOKANE, Wash. – — Neighbors in a Northwest Spokane community have told us dozens of mailboxes were broken in to on Friday night.
Metal mailboxes that are locked and require a key to open, line the streets of Rambo Road. Residents say they were forced open in the middle of the night Friday.
One man who lives on this street told KXLY he arrived home after working the night shift to find his mailbox forced open and the mail missing. Driving around adjacent streets, he saw dozens more were damaged.
Neighbors say this happens all too often in this area and suspect the thieves might be in search of tax documents.
Police say in order to protect your identity, consider holding mail at the local post office or opt to have your tax forms sent to you electronically.
