NCAA: No. 4 Florida State breezes past No. 12 Murray State
No. 4 Florida State stopped 12th-seeded Murray State’s Cinderella run Saturday night with a 90-62 win in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Florida State, which beat No. 13 Vermont 76-69 Thursday to open their NCAA Tournament play, now has an overall record of 29-7 and punches its ticket to the Sweet 16.
The Racers were riding an 11-game winning streak coming into the NCAA Tournament, which included taking both the Ohio Valley regular-season and tournament titles for the second straight year.
They opened NCAA Tournament play by beating No. 5 Marquette 83-64 in the first round on Thursday.
Mfiondu Kabengele led the Seminoles with 22 points and Ja Morant led the Racers with 28 points.
