NCAA: No. 2 Michigan State stops No. 10 Minnesota

No. 2 Michigan State denied No. 10 Minnesota a hometown Final Four with a 70-50 victory in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday night.

The Final Four is being played this year in Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium, just down the road form the Golden Gophers’ home court at Williams Arena.

Xavier Tillman led the Spartans with 14 points and Amir Coffey led the Golden Gophers with 27 points.

Michigan State, which finished six spots ahead of Minnesota to repeat as Big Ten regular-season champions before also winning the conference tournament, now has an overall record of 30-6.
