Nation’s top offense and defense collide as Gonzaga faces Texas Tech
ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Zags are back in the Elite Eight for the third time in five years, but they’ll have to face one of the hottest defenses in the country Saturday.
Texas Tech stifled second-seeded Michigan on Thursday, limiting to 16 first half points and eventually the lowest point total for any two-seed in NCAA Tournament history.
On offense, the Red Raiders are led by Jarrett Culver, who put up 22 points against the Wolverines and is a high NBA draft prospect this year.
Gonzaga is coming off a tough win over Florida State, where the Seminoles got within four with three minutes to go, but Zach Norvell Jr. stepped up, as he likes to do in the NCAA tourney, and nailed a three to give the Bulldogs a lead they would carry through the end.
Rui Hachimura led the Zags with 17 points.
Tip-off Saturday is at 3:09 p.m. Be sure to follow Keith Osso (@ ossokxly ) and Alyssa Charlston (@ alyssacharlston ) on Twitter for all the behind-the-scenes action before, during and after tip-off!
