N. Idaho dogs with special needs to hit the field in this year’s Puppy Bowl
HAUSER, Idaho — Two special needs pups from North Idaho will take the field in Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday.
Filbert and Daphne are cared for at Double J Dog Ranch in Hauser. The non-profit rescues, re-homes and provides sanctuary to double merle Aussies and special needs dogs in jeopoardy of euthaniasia.
The two dogs are Double J’s seventh and eighth special needs pups to make the puppy bowl. Filbert is deaf and Daphne has megaesohagus.
Catch the sweet canines on Animal Planet this Sunday at noon. Embers by the Lake will hosting a special pup-peroni pizza “pawty,” with proceeds benefiting Double J.
You also won’t want to miss the Dog Bowl III. Another Double J dog, Lulu, will be in the starting lineup. That airs Saturday at 5 p.m.
