Murder suspect to appear in court
SPOKANE, Wash. — The woman accused of fatally shooting an apartment complex owner and wounding the manager is scheduled to enter a plea in court Tuesday morning.
27 year old Anne Carpenter is accused of going to the Westview Manor apartments on west 10th avenue on December 19, 2017 and fatally shooting Danette Kane and wounding Michael Troy.
According to court documents, there was some sort of dispute between Carpenter’s father who lives at the complex and the manager Micheal Troy. Investigators believe that dispute could be the motive for the shooting.
Court documents allege Carpenter went to the complex looking for Troy and when she found him in the parking lot, shot him three times. Investigators say when Carpenter was leaving, she saw Kane on the third story landing. Court documents show Carpenter climbed the stairs and allegedly shot Kane at a short distance.
Detectives recovered a total of six shell casings from the scene.
A sketch of the murder suspect was released and three days later, Carpenter was arrested near Northtown.
Carpenter is currently charged with 1st Degree Murder and 1st Degree Assualt. She is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at 9:30am.
