Mount Spokane looks like it's in the middle of ski season after some heavy, unexpected snowfall at the start of autumn.

Skiers, snowboarders and tubers rejoice! Mt. Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park is opening on Friday.

The mountain got five inches of new snow overnight Thursday and more snow is in the forecast.

That means it’s time to open for the mountain for skiing, snowboarding and tubing. On Friday, chairs 2, 3 and 5 will open. Additional chairs will open later on in the season, but lift tickets will be discounted in the meantime.
