Move your boats and trailers out of street parking spots, snow season preparations underway
SPOKANE, Wash. — Snow season is fast approaching. As part of the City of Spokane’s snow response plan, an emphasis is under way to get recreational vehicles, boats and trailers out of on-street parking and into an appropriate winter storage location.
These vehicles must be moved by November 15, which is the official start of the City’s snow season. They may be towed if they aren’t moved by that date.
Abandoned vehicles on city streets also can be a snow plow obstacle. Citizens can call 311 to report abandoned vehicles in their neighborhoods.
The City’s Snow Response Plan is a collaboration between the city and its citizens. The Plan includes:
More plowing, sooner
More equipment and people available for snow removal
Quicker completion of the full-City plow during heavier snowfalls of about three days
The use of equipment to minimize driveway berms
Greater emphasis on plowing snow away from sidewalks
Simplified seasonal parking rules and more emphasis on cleaning sidewalks
