Moses Lake firefighters rescue deer trapped in mud
MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Firefighters in Moses Lake rescued a deer trapped in mud in the lake’s Parker Horn Thursday.
In a Facebook post, Moses Lake Firefighters said, “We take these reports as a great opportunity to train in technical rescues. It is far better for us to make a properly trained and equipped effort, rather than well meaning citizens making an attempt and potentially making things more complicated.”

The firefighters rinsed the mud off the female deer, dried her off as best as they could and even covered her with hot packs and blankets.
The deer reportedly became more alert over time. The Facebook post says reports the firefighters received later were that the deer was no longer in the area.
