Moscow Food Co-op to host healthy eating on a budget
MOSCOW, Idaho — The Moscow Food Co-op is hosting another installment of their Healthy Eating on a Budget class on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m.
Participants will learn how to plan a whole week’s worth of meals at once to save time and money. After meal planning tips, the class will take a walking tour that showcases the best aisles to shop at the Co-op for maximum value and minimum cost.
Attendees will learn tips for saving money when shopping and cooking by utilizing staple ingredients particularly from the produce section of the store.
Samples of the recipes discussed that are made to be plant based and free from major allergens will be provided.
The instructor of the course is registered dietitian, Alice Ma, who is a long time Co-op owner and volunteer. She is a self-taught cook who creates easy and cost efficient recipes.
Tickets for the class are $5 for the public, $3 for Co-op owners and free for the participants in the Co-op’s FLOWER program and student owners. Those who register ahead of time are eligible to receive reimbursement for their ticket price in the form of a Co-op gift card.
