More Western Washington counties enact burn bans
Two of Western Washington’s most populous counties have joined a host of others in enacting outdoor burn bans as warm, dry summer weather arrives.
KOMO-TV reports in King County, a burn ban will take effect Saturday in all unincorporated areas where all outdoor burning will be prohibited except for small recreational fires in established pits.
In Snohomish County, outdoor burning also will be banned in all unincorporated areas starting Friday except for small recreational fires.
Counties including Whatcom, Kitsap, Skagit, Pierce, Island, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Mason and Pacific have all enacted similar burn bans that have started already or will take effect by this weekend.
