SPOKANE, Wash. — The “Monsters of Rock” show at Joe Albi Stadium is one step closer to becoming  reality.

The Spokane Public School Board said Wednesday night it is drafting a resolution for a one-time waiver on the stadium’s ban of alcohol sales. That resolution is expected to be fully reviewed and considered at a later meeting.

The original Monsters of Rock Tour took place at Joe Albi back in 1988. Sammy Hagar, the former lead singer of Van Halen, played at that show.

When Hagar heard Joe Albi will be fully demolished, he decided to rally bands back to Spokane to play one last show.

The “Red Rocker” already sent a proposal to the school board.
