Missing Spokane teen found safe in California, family says
SPOKANE, Wash. — A teenager who went missing from Spokane Community College two weeks ago has been found safe, according to the Spokane Police Department.
SPD confirmed Sara McNease has been found safe. Her family said the teen was found in California.
In a release sent to media on Tuesday, police said they are settling their missing person’s case. Police said McNease has been in contact with an attorney who confirmed to police she is alive and well.
Police said McNease went missing from SCC’s parking lot, where her car and personal belongings were found. They had reason to believe she was with an unknown man.
McNease’s family said she has Asperger’s, bipolar disorder and PTSD. Though she is 17 years old, her family said she functions at a younger age.
For two weeks, her family begged for her to come home. They held press conferences and a vigil to pray for her safe return.
This is a developing story.
