Members of Post Falls community help make bunkbeads for those in need
POST FALLS, ID. — Pine Grove Academy teamed up with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to provide and create bunk beds for children who need a place to sleep.
Pine Grove Academy raised $1,500 in March through a Krispy Kreme fundraiser that was used to purchase wood to make the beds.
Around 30-40 people are on the waiting list to get a bed, but there is currently a pause on the waiting list due to a switch in software that tracks who is on the waiting list. Service Coordinator Amy Fox said the list should be open again anytime over the next few days.
“We hope to provide a comfortable, warm place to sleep for kids in the local area and to provide an opportunity to be involved in community and service for the children and families at our school,” Fox said.
They are expected to finish at least 30 beds created by about 60 volunteers. Others that came to provide a helping hand besides volunteers include staff from Sleep in Heavenly Peace and members from Windermere Real Estate.
