McMorris Rodgers explains stance on legal usage of marijuana at town hall
SPOKANE, Wash. — On Thursday night, at a much-anticipated town hall Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers held on the Gonzaga campus, the representative was asked why she opposed the legal usage of marijuana and whether or not she supported Attorney General Sessions’ efforts.
McMorris Rodgers says her thoughts on the issue stem from being a mother.
“I think about my kids,” she said. “I think about access to marijuana and the other drugs that I believe it leads to. Right now, it’s against the law at the federal level, and until it’s changed at the federal level, I would support his efforts.”
McMorris Rodgers added that she feels using marijuana leads to more abuse and addiction in the United States.
