SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward will announce the location of the Spokane Police Department’s new downtown precinct on Monday.

It’s said the new precinct will increase police visibility downtown and accommodate up to 35 officers.

Another goal for the central location is to strengthen officer connections with the community and visitors, according to the City of Spokane.

The precinct will be located on a busy intersection in the middle of the regional hub for employment, higher education, entertainment, and public transit.

Woodward will make the announcement at 10 a.m.
