Mattawa high school student arrested for death threat
MATTAWA, Wash. — A Wahluke High School student was arrested this week after a death threat was made online directed toward the school’s homecoming events.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Wahluke school officials investigated the threat and were able to link it back to the suspect based on the IP address. After further investigation, the student was arrested and booked into the Grant County juvenile justice system.
The sheriff’s office does not believe the threat is credible and there was no evidence of a formalized plan.
Wahluke’s homecoming week starts on Monday, Oct. 1.
