Massive fire destroys Sports Liquidators building in Wenatchee
WENATCHEE, Wash. — Firefighters are battling a structure fire in Wenatchee that’s now destroyed the Sports Liquidator building off Horselake Road.
The fire broke out around 10:40 a.m. Sunday. Crews found smoke coming from the lower level, but the fast-moving fire engulfed the building. The roof has caved in and officials believe the two-story building is a total loss.
Chelan County Fire District One spokesman Rick Isaacson said several homes and the nearby Walmart were evacuated as a precaution, but there are no reports of injuries. Power to the area was shut off.
Officials are asking people to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
