Marysville jail escape undetected for 2 days
MARYSVILLE, Wash. — An escape from the Marysville City Jail went undetected for two days until the inmate’s defense lawyer stopped for a visit and he couldn’t be found.
The Daily Herald reports 19-year-old Rhyan Vasquez is back in custody facing a possible escape charge along with a previous robbery allegation.
Court papers say his absence wasn’t noticed until last Wednesday when his lawyer asked to see him. Jail staff checked surveillance video and saw that Vasquez had backed out a door into a hallway Sept. 22 while a group of inmates was returning from a Bible study class held in a visitation area.
