Man who lives in travel trailer sees it stolen

In Vancouver, an 86-year-old man who lives out of a travel trailer is hoping anyone who sees his stolen home will help him get it back.

The Columbian reports that Bill Laubach says he parked his 1966 Aloha trailer last Friday afternoon in a Walgreens parking lot and went across the street to a McDonald’s.  When he walked back outside, he saw a man hook up the trailer to a Chevrolet pickup and drive off.

Laubach says he started running after the vehicle but couldn’t catch up. The man says all his possessions were inside.

He lives year-round in the trailer, heading to Arizona in the winter and back to Washington in the summer. The trailer has a personalized Arizona license plate that reads “MIHOME.”

Vancouver police say an auto theft detective is following up on the case.
