Man shot several times in East Central; suspect at large
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police said a man was taken to the hospital after he was shot several times near 5th Avenue and Fiske Street Monday around 9 a.m.
According to Officer John O’Brien, the victim called police to report he had been shot. Police responded and found the victim in a home at 3100 E. 5th Avenue.
The victim was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
O’Brien said Major Crimes investigators are on scene, but there are hardly any details into the incident.
Police do not have a suspect in custody.
Spokane Police responded to a separate shooting near 5th Ave. and Fisk St. on April 29. The victim in that shooting was taken to the hospital and later died. Police have still not arrested a suspect in that incident.
Both shootings were at the same complex, but different apartments.
When asked, police said it is to early in the investigation to confirm or rule out that the shootings are related.
