Man rescued in vehicle from Big Canyon Creek
PECK, Idaho — A 31-year-old man was rescued late Saturday night from Big Canyon Creek after his vehicle ended up in the water.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle in the creek around 10 p.m. Friday. Deputies learned that one person was still in the vehicle and there possibly was another person, but their location was not known.
Both Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Deputies and Clearwater County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene. The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office activated their dive team, and with the combined effort from both departments, the man was rescued from his vehicle in the water.
31-year-old Dustin Fowler was transported to the Clearwater Valley Hospital for treatment. His injuries are unknown at this time, but Deputies believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. After further investigation, it was determined Fowler was the only person involved in the accident.
This investigation is ongoing.
