Man arrested for leaving scene of fatal hit and run in Airway Heights
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 24-year-old man for leaving the scene of a fatal hit and run back in May.
According to a release, deputies developed probable cause to charge Trevor J. Stephen in connection to the Airway Heights crash.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service located Stephen near Cohcran and Dean, and arrested him on the active felony warrant. He was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
The crash happened on May 16 just after 9:00 p.m. Deputies learned the the victim was attempting to cross Hayford Rd. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south. Authorities said Stephen was behind the wheel and then left the scene.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
