Getting fit is one of the top New Year’s resolutions people make. It’s also the resolution people break the fastest, 60% of those who purchase gym memberships in January – don’t even use them!

Everyone is racing towards completing their New Year’s resolutions. The biggest thing to do, if you’d like to keep it through 2019 is to slow… it …. down!

Take a look at your goal and make sure that it is something that is attainable.

Omar Perez with MUV Fitness said, “we make it a realistic goal, something you can achieve. If you want to come in 5 days per week, let’s set your goal for 3 days per week. If you come in 3 days per week, awesome!”

Gyms can often be intimidating for those struggling; a reason why so many tuck their memberships back in their wallet just a few weeks in. A MUV Fitness Spokane Valley, trainers like Kite have been where many are now.

“I’ve lost 80 pounds total,” shared director of MUV Fitness Spokane Valley and personal trainer.

“It really comes down to being consistent with it. We call it the 80/20 rule. You know, being on target 80% of the time and falling off 20% of the time,” shared Kite.

Omar said, “9 times out of 10, people who have New Year’s resolutions or who join these challenges, have people that work against them. Could be family or coworkers. They say, ‘you did a great job, you deserve this pizza,’ or ‘you did a great job, you deserve this burger.’ We are going to say you did a great job, you deserve to not eat the pizza, you deserve to continue on your path of health and goals and your fitness!”
