Seattle great and recently inducted MLB Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The matchup against the Boston Red Sox will be the first game played following the ballpark’s new name change. The Mariners’ home field was dubbed T-Mobile Park in December following a new partnership with the cell phone carrier.
The Mariners open the 2019 season with a two-game set against the Oakland A’s on March 20 and 21 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
The Mariners also played the Yomiuri Giants in a two-game exhibition on March 17 and 18 in Tokyo.
