SHOSHONE CO., Idaho — Lookout Pass is around 20 miles east of Silver Mountain, but they are seeing vastly different mountain conditions, which they say will prevent them from getting avalanches.

Rescue operations are still continuing from an avalanche that hit Silver Mountain’s Wardner Peak Tuesday morning.

Lookout Pass says they do not have terrain susceptible to slides, and that they have never experienced one in park history. They also report that they have not been requested to send any ski patrol crews to Silver Mountain.

Silver received two feet of snow over the weekend, and Lookout saw 14 inches on Tuesday alone.
