Lincoln County Sheriff deploys new boat for citizen assist on Lake Roosevelt
Lincoln County deploys new “Marine One” on Lake Roosevelt. Here’s a message from Sheriff Wade Magers below:
Marine One responded to a call for help yesterday afternoon. The boaters had been out fishing and enjoying Lake Roosevelt when they became stranded due to motor failure. A 6 year old child was on board and the mother was able to get a 911 call out on her cell phone to Lincoln and Ferry Counties.
We deployed the new Marine One with two deputies aboard. They responded to the scene and the occupants were able to get to shore. Deputies gave the occupants a ride by patrol car and their disabled vessel was moored overnight to be retrieved today.
Search and Rescue is a common call on our lakes and it was fitting that the first official deployment of “Marine One” was used to assist a stranded boater. This involved two deputies on shore, two deputies in “Marine One” and a very helpful civilian who invited the occupants inside to get warm and allowed the boat to stay overnight to be retrieved today. Good Job all involved!
