Lincoln Co. man arrested for firing shot near girlfriend’s head, deputies say
WILBUR, Wash. — A 20-year-old man was arrested for multiple felonies in Stevens County on Wednesday.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Matayo Mattamcdougal after they received a 911 call for reported shots fired in Wilbur. Deputies responded to the area after getting a description of the suspect vehicle, which was subsequently stopped east of Wilbur traveling over 90 mph.
The LCSO said two women were in the vehicle with Mattamcdougal. Mattamcdougal, who is the boyfriend of one of the women, reportedly got into an argument. Deputies said he stopped the vehicle near the Key Bank, got out of the car, walked to the passenger side, pointed a .22 caliber pistol at his girlfriend and shot near her head. The bullet ricocheted off the glass.
Mattamcdougal was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, first-degree assault, illegal possession of a firearm and other driving offenses. He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail.
