Liberty Lake fire station hosts open house
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley Fire Department is celebrating more than 75 years of service to the community with free family fun during the Liberty Lake Fire Station #3 Open House on April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The new fire station, located at 21300 E. Country Vista Drive, opened in December 2017. This is the first Open House event to be hosted at the new station.
Kids of all ages are invited to squirt a real fire hose, take pictures in firefighter gear, check out the fire engines and meet firefighters and paramedics. Visitors can tour the new neighborhood fire station, including the workroom where firefighters care for more than 160 SCBAs (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) belonging to all SVFD firefighters.
Other activities include free blood pressure checks, learning about CPR, smoke alarms and home fire prevention. Parents are encouraged to get a free Operation ID child safety kit for every child from SCOPE volunteers. There will be giveaways, cookies and more!
Parking is available adjacent to the fire station and in the neighboring Country Vista Apartments parking lot.
