Latah County fire now 100% contained
LATAH CO., Idaho — The Prospect Fire in Latah County was completely contained, as of Monday morning. The fire was burning eight miles north of Harvard and was contained at 333 acres.
According to the Idaho Department of Lands, the fire burned in the vicinity of Meadow Creek and burned heavy logging slash. It burned predominantly on private industrial lands and did not threatened structures or homes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation while investigators can make a definitive decision.
IDL reminded the public that burn permits are required through October 20th and can be obtained online. Additional local requirements may also be in place.
