Lapwai man leaves scene of accident, arrested by deputies
LAPWAI, Idaho — A Lapwai man was arrested Thursday afternoon for leaving the scene of an injury accident, which is considered a felony charge.
41-year-old Julius E. Beyer Jr. was traveling west on Lapwai Rd about two miles west of Lapwai around 4 p.m. when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle. After the collision, Beyer left the scene and continued home to his residence.
Nez Perce County deputies arrested Beyer at his home for leaving the scene of an injury accident, which is a felony, and reckless driving and injury to children, both misdemeanors. Beyer was carrying several passengers, including children, in his vehicle.
The driver and passenger in the victim vehicle had minor injuries and were treated on scene by Lewiston Ambulance.
Alcohol and speed and believed to be factors in the crash.
