Kootenai County Sheriff’s investigate reported attempted bank robbery
HAYDEN, Idaho — UPDATE: Detectives have identified and interviewed the person of interest. The man was very cooperative with the investigation.
After being thoroughly interviewed, investigators and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office have determined no charges will be filed.
PREVIOUS: The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported attempted bank robbery that occurred at a US Bank location in Hayden Thursday shorty before 7 p.m.
Deputies responded to the US Bank branch inside Albertson’s at the Prairie Shopping Center for a reported attempted robbery.
Witnesses say a man entered the bank and pointed at the tellers with his hand shaped like a gun. The man demanded money and after a brief conversation, left empty handed.
He’s described as in his 50’s wearing a green or grey t-shirt, khaki shorts, sandals with white socks, a camouflage hat with messy red hair, and an unshaven beard,
The man was seen leaving the store in a late 90’s or early 2000’s silver/beige GM type extended cab truck.
