Kootenai Co. Sheriff’s K9 finds 58 lbs. of marijuana
COEUR D'ALENE, ID — A Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office K9 helped make an arrest and major drug bust along I-90 Thursday, east of Coeur d’Alene.
During a traffic stop, “Pogo” alerted his handler, Deputy Nate Nelson, to the presence of drugs in the car. A search led to the discovery of 58 pounds of marijuana, three grams of methamphetamine, more than $1,400 in cash and a loaded pistol.
70-year-old Michael Campbell of Yakima was arrested and booked into the Kootenai County Jail for felony drug trafficking, possession of controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
Campbell initially told deputies he was a retired school teacher on his way from Yakima to Chicago, Ill.
