Kids at the Northeast Youth Center sell lemonade to raise money for end-of-summer trip

SPOKANE, Wash. — The kids at Northeast Youth Center are raising money this Friday for an end-of-summer trip!

You can see them from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 3004 E Queen Ave., holding up signs at the lemonade stand.

Executive Director Sheila Geraghty says they are raising money to go to Triple Play Family Fun Park and Chuck E. Cheese.

She says most of the kids have never been to a place like Triple Play Family Fun Park — yet, they are willing to work all day Friday to raise money at their lemonade stand.

“Last year we raised $5,200 and our goal this year is $6,200. Some donors just write big checks as well as pay for the lemonade,” said Geraghty. “Coyote Country will broadcast live from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and law enforcement will pop in and help during the day as well.”

This year the goal is $9,000. Each cup of lemonade is only $1.

Support the kids at the Northeast Youth Center by making a Facebook donation or buy some lemonade at the stand.
