“Jedliniok” Polish dancers to perform tonight in Spokane Valley as part of Northwest tour
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Tonight two worlds collide at the Western Dance Center.
A touring dance group all the way from Poland is making one of the final stops of their Northwest tour in Spokane Valley.
The Jedliniok as they are called, are a group of Polish college students with a love for traditional dance.
Their shows include singing, dancing, music and costumes that their ancestors would have worn hundreds of years ago when the dances were first celebrated.
Their performance includes three costume changes and many varieties of polish folk dance. At the end of Thursday’s show, they’ll be joined by Square Dancing of Spokane. Each group will teach the other moves.
Western Dance Center is located at 1901 West Sullivan Road. The performance starts at 7pm. Admission is free. Donations are welcome to help with the dancers travel expenses.
