It’s fishing season at Washington’s lowland lakes

Saturday is opening day of Washington’s lowland lakes season, where you can find some of the best trout fishing.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife says most waters around Spokane will be well stocked with rainbow trout.

Badger and Williams Lakes in South Spokane County, Fish Lake near Cheney, and Fishtrap Lake near the county line are expected to have great fishing.

But Fish and Wildlife says Medical Lake is not expected to have the best fishing because of goldfish introduced illegally that have taken a toll on the trout fishery.
