“It’s a midterm election like no other” says Spokane County Auditor as ballots continue to roll in
SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s been a busy few weeks for Spokane County Elections and it isn’t slowing down any time soon.
Spokane County Auditor Vicky Dalton said they’ve already counted 128,000 ballots and they are expecting they’ll process around double that in the coming days and weeks.
She says they will be receiving mail-in ballots through Friday. We will start to see results that represent all voters early next week, but it might be a few weeks till we learn about close races.
Spokane County Auditor Vicky Dalton explained, “as far as we are concerned, in elections administration, there is no such thing as calling a race. We go right to the last day in certification. No matter what candidates say, we are the ones that finalize those numbers and certify races.”
Certification will happen on Tuesday, November 27.
If 260,000 ballots end up being returned, it will be the most people ever to have voted in a Spokane County election – including presidential elections.
