Ironman Coeur d’Alene in need of volunteers
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Ironman returns to Coeur d’Alene later this month and volunteers are needed to help race day happen.
Volunteer Director Michelle Haustein said the race has been given the official “green light,” but the Ironman team is desperate for volunteers.
More than 3,000 volunteers are needed, but only 400 have registered as of Monday. Volunteer groups and captains are needed, as well. Captains help organize volunteer areas and recruit volunteers.
This year’s Ironman will be the full distance race; that is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile marathon. The full distance race was last held in the area in 2017.
