Interim president named for Boise State University
A longtime faculty member has been selected as interim president at Boise State University.
The Idaho State Board of Education on Friday named Martin Schimpf to lead the school when President Bob Kustra retires on June 30.
Board President Linda Clark says the board was looking for an interim president that has the trust of the campus community and can maintain the school’s momentum.
Schimpf has been a faculty member for 21 years. He’s been a professor, chair of the Department of Chemistry, vice president for academic affairs, and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The board has held a first round of interviews to replace Kustra but said late last month it would extend the search.
