Inslee talks climate, clean energy at WSU event

A crowd at WSU’s Bryan Hall Auditorium had a rare opportunity Wednesday morning: A visit from a presidential hopeful- the second ever to stop by the school’s campus and the first since John F. Kennedy.

But this candidate was familiar to audience members- Washington Governor Jay Inslee was on campus to discuss clean energy in the state.

Inslee said he was speaking at the event in his capacity as governor but fielded multiple questions from audience members about his 2020 campaign, which will focus on climate change.

“This is a singularly unique moment in American history where we face such an existential threat where you only really have one more chance to do something about this,” he said.
