Increased fire restrictions declared in Coeur d’Alene
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The City of Coeur d’Alene Fire Department has imposed new Stage 2 fire restrictions based on coordination with the Idaho Department of Lands and other firefighting agencies throughout the state.
These restrictions will go into effect the morning of Wednesday, August 16, in response to increased fire restrictions statewide.
New restrictions include:
No campfire or stove fires, including ones on private land.
Chainsaws or other equipment operation is only allowed between 1 p.m to 1 a.m.
No smoking outside of enclosed vehicles or buildings, where allowed.
No motorized vehicles being utilized off designated roads or trails.
A fire or stove/grill fueled only by liquid petroleum fuels – such as a propane tank, may be used.
Smoking is allowed while stopped in an area of at least three feet in diameter cleared of all flammable material.
