I think you’ll LOVE the Valentine’s Day forecast, but there’s a big storm moving in for the weekend – Kris
We are already drying out in Spokane after a cold front moved through the region Thursday evening bringing a band of light rain showers. Clouds and breezy conditions will linger through Friday morning, but then the sun breaks out for a beautiful Valentine’s Day! Got a hot date with your Valentine for Friday night? No problem! It should be dry and mild with light winds.
It might be dry in Spokane, but the story is different in the Idaho Panhandle where upslope rain and snow showers will continue into Friday. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY continues for the Central Idaho Panhandle through Friday at 4 p.m.
A significant winter storm moves in over the weekend, bringing heavy snow to the mountains and a messy mix of rain and snow to the valleys.
Unfortunately, pinpointing snowfall amounts for the valleys has been very tricky, as the computer models have been all over the map.
Right now, I think we will mostly be dealing with rain during the day on Saturday, and then as we get into Saturday night and Sunday morning, the rain will transition to snow with an inch or two of slushy accumulation that will melt readily on Sunday. But, stay tuned…
