I-90 closures planned for overpass repairs near Ritzville

RITZVILLE, Wash. — Travelers will soon be impacted by two road closures in the Ritzville area, as Washington State Department of Transportation crews work to repair an Interstate 90 overpass.
WSDOT will close westbound I-90 during two 36-hour stretches to complete the demolition of the overpass and place the new girders. The first closure will be from 6 p.m. Oct. 1 to 6 a.m. Oct. 3. The second closure will take place two weeks later, from 6 p.m. Oct. 15 to 6 a.m. Oct. 17.
Drivers on I-90 will need to follow the signed detours via the Tokio interchange off and on-ramps during the closures.
Additionally, drivers who use Danekas Rd. over I-90, will need to plan an alternate route starting Sept. 30. Crews will close the road over the interstate and reroute traffic to repair damage from an oversized load that struck the overpass in May. Crews will demolish and replace the damaged span, reinstall the railing and pave the bridge surface.
There will be no lane restrictions or closures during Washington State University home football game weekends.
