Historic B-17 bomber visits Felts Field
SPOKANE, Wash. — Felts Field in Spokane Valley has a special guest this week!
The “Madras Maiden”, a B-17 bomber from World War II, is visiting the air field as part of an educational and historical experience presented by the Liberty Foundation.
This plane is one of only 10 B-17s that are still flyable.
The Liberty Foundation is a non-profit organization that flies aircraft all over the country to bring the public a little piece of history.
Public flights and ground tours will be available on Saturday & Sunday.
Flights will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every hour on the hour. Tickets are $450 for 45 mins.
Ground tours will be available from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for free.
Participants will be able to visit the cockpit, glass nose and all crew positions to get a feel for what this historic aircraft was like during the war.
