Hazmat crews stop gas leak at Haskins Steel Co. building

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Fire Department has put out a gas leak at the Haskins Steel building in East Central Spokane.

Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer says the leak was identified as nitrogen and oxygen, which came from high-pressure vessels inside the building.

The leak has been stopped and the building and neighborhood are now safe.
