Having a bowl of soup could help kids at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital this October
SPOKANE, Wash. — For the ninth year, the Providence Health Care Foundation is holding the annual “Soup for the Soul” fundraiser at several local restaurants to benefit the Arts in Healing program at the Children’s Hospital.
Each Wednesday in October, close to 20 local restaurants donate a portion of their soup sales to the program. Some do so every day of the month, like Steelhead Bar and Grille.
Arts in Healing provides hospitalized children and their families with creative therapy including visual arts, creative writing, music and dance throughout 2,000 yearly visits.
Soup for the Soul is the only fundraiser for Arts in Healing and the proceeds go towards supplies for the year. Last year they raised over $5,000 in the month of October. To date, they’ve raised over $35,000.
