Hamilton St. hit-and-run victim identified, suspect still at large
SPOKANE, Wash. — The victim in a fatal hit-and-run near N. Hamilton and Spokane Falls Blvd was identified as 50-year-old Michael Bryan Donahey.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner said Donahey died from blunt impact to his chest and ruled the incident an accident.
Spokane Police still have not identified or contacted the driver of the vehicle that hit Donahey.
Police said the crash happened just before 9 p.m. on Monday. Donahey was walking along southbound Hamilton near the I-90 on-ramp when he was hit by the car.
A following driver saw what happened and called 911. Responding officers and medics attempted CPR, but said Donahey died at the scene.
Investigators found what they believe to be the suspect’s vehicle about a mile away from the scene. A K-9 unit searched for the driver, but did not locate the suspect.
